Cuba is preparing its gradual reopening to tourism starting November 15, when it estimates that over 90% of its 11.2 million inhabitants have received the three-dose program of Covid-19 vaccines developed by the island's scientific institutions. This was announced by the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), explaining that in parallel the health and hygiene measures and protocols established for the arrival of travelers will be relaxed.

The protocols that will regulate the reopening will focus on monitoring symptomatic patients and on temperature detection, the release reads. The PCR diagnostic test will not be required on arrival and the vaccination certificate presented by the passengers will be recognized, even if the Covid tests will be performed randomly. In addition, the opening of the national tourism market will gradually begin in accordance with the epidemiological indicators of each region of the country.

At the moment, the Cuban health authorities are carrying out a massive vaccination program at the end of which, at the end of this month, they predict that the entire population to be immunized will have received at least one dose of their Abdala, Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus vaccines. three Cuban formulas that have authorization for emergency use in the country.

By mid-November, the Cuban authorities expect to have immunized 92.6% of the 11.2 million inhabitants who live on the island with the three doses, including the population between the ages of 2 and 18.
